New Consultant of Children’s Films at SFI
Linus Torell has been appointed consultant of films for children and youth at the Swedish Film Institute.
Torell
has a background as a journalist but has mostly worked with children’s
films at SVT where he has directed films, TV programmes and TV series.
Linus Torell succeeds Johan Bogaeus and will takes take up the position on 1 January 2011.

Klara Grunning-Harris New Film Consultant at DFI
Klara Grunning-Harris has been appointed consultant of short- and documentary films at the Danish Film Institute (DFI).
Klara
Grunning-Harris grew up in Lund in Sweden and has a background in art
studies from Paris and film production from The Academy of Art
University in San Francisco.
She has worked as an independent
producer, director consultant, photographer and project coordinator.
Since 1999 she headed the development of department of international
co-production.
Grunning-Harris takes over from Michael Haslund-Christensen and will take up her position on 15 September.

Satu Elo Leaves the Finnish Film Foundation
As
of 1 September Satu Elo takes up a position as Workshop Manager at EAVE
in Luxemburg leaving the Finnish Film Foundation where she is the
Information Officer.

New Board at Norwegian Film and TV Producers ' Association
A
new board at the Norwegian Film and TV Producers’ Association
(Produsentforeningen) was elected at their General Assembly earlier this
year. Sveinung Golim from Filmkameraterne AS who has been on the board
since 2004 was elected chairman of the board for another two years.
Marit Hansen-Tangen from Monster AS was elected vice-chairman. The new
board members are: Sveinung Golimo, Filmkameratene AS, Marit
Hansen-Tangen, Monster AS, Guri Neby, Einar Film AS, Lars Løge, Flimmer
Film AS, Jørgen Tharaldsen, Funcom AS, Asle Vatn, Friland AS, Gudny
Hummelvoll, SF Norge AS, Lasse Hallberg, Rubicon/Metronome.
Norwegian
Film and TV Producers’ Association was established in 1933 and
comprises today approximately 80 independent production companies
involved in film and TV production. Its members are spread throughout
the country and produce short films, documentaries, feature films, TV
programs, commercial films, commissioned films, multimedia and more.
Norwegian Film and TV Producers’ Association is both a trade association
and an employers’ association. The association works for political
influence in relation to the authorities, public institutions, TV
stations and copyright organizations.

Hanne Palmquist Continues as CEO of Nordisk Film & TV Fond
The Board of Nordisk Film & TV Fond has extended Hanne Palmquist’ contract until the end of 2012.
Hanne Palmquist was appointed CEO in 2007 and her contract was due to expire at the end of 2010.
Nordisk
Film & TV Fond has an annual budget of approximately DKK 70
million. One third of the Fund's budget is provided by the Nordic
Council of Ministers, one third by the Nordic film institutes and one
third by Nordic public channels and commercial broadcasters. In May
2009, the Nordic culture ministers signed a new five-year agreement with
Nordisk Film & TV Fond that will run until the end of 2014.

New Board at NRK
Former
publisher’s editor of Aschehoug & Co., William Nygaard (67), has
been appointed new Chairman of the Board at the Norwegian public
broadcaster, NRK. Nygaard takes over from Hallvard Bakke.
The NRK
Board has seen major renewals, with four new members appointed by the
Swedish Cultural Department, and only one member being re-elected.

Kristina Åberg
Spokes Woman for Swedish Film & TV Producers Association
Kristina
Åberg, producer at Atmo and founder of VD, was elected new spokes woman
for the Swedish Film & TV Producers
Association.
The other members of the Film section are: Börje
Hansson, Gila Bergqvist, Thomas Michaelsson, Daniella Elmqvist Prah,
Johan Mardell, Patrick Ryborn and Fredrik Wikström.
The Swedish Film
& TV Producers is a Trade Association representing approximately 105
independent production companies involved in the production of film,
documentaries, TV programmes and commercial films in Sweden.

Mette Elmgaard
Kennebo New Development Manager at Filmby Århus
Mette Elmgaard Kennebo has been appointed new
project manager at Filmby Århus.
Mette
comes from a job as producer and production manager of commercials at
Frontier in Århus.
Filmby Århus is a centre for film and media
production in Jutland and aims to push development and promotion of the
sector and the development of the region's potential through First
Motion and North Sea Screen Partners.

Julie Lindegaard Head of
Development Film Fyn
Julie Lindegaard, a trained journalist and formerly
owner of a communication agency, will be the new Head of Development at Film Fyn.
Lindegaard
will be responsible for the development of film related business
activities in the region and will work on increasing the focus on film
related activities aimed at tourists.
Lindegaard will also be the
manager of the international EU-project North Sea Screen Partners.
Together with a number of other partners in seven European countries,
Film Fyn is part of North Sea Screen. The program aims to support the
activities of Film Fyn and has a budget of approx. DKK 6 million. The
overall object of the program is to create business and educational
activities with relation to film across the North Sea area and to
attract new film productions to the area.

Petri Kempinnen Head of Production at FFF
Petri
Kemppinen has been appointed Head of the Production Department of the
Finnish Film Foundation as of 1 May. He will be responsible for the
development of the department and acts as its manager.
Formerly the
post was named Head of International Affairs and Development, and
Kemppinen will continue to develop the internationals aspects of
Finnish film production and to represent the Finnish Film Foundation in
Eurimages and Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

Bo Damgaard New Chairman of DFI Board
Media
consultant and TV producer Bo Damgaard has been appointed chairman of
the Board at the Danish Film Institute. Damgaard has been Programme
Director at TV2 Denmark and Head of Department at DR.
Damgaard takes over after Morten Hesseldahl, who will become Cultural Director at Danish Broadcasting Corporation.

Marie Östbye New Festival Coordinator
Uppsala International Short Film Festival
has engaged Marie Österbye as the new Festival Coordinator. Östbye has
worked with the festival for years as director of the Board and as a
Programmer of the International Section.
Festival Director Niclas Gillberg is temporarily substituting Christoffer Olofsson who is on maternity leave.
Lauri Kivinen has
been appointed new Director General at Finnish Broadcasting Corporation
YLE by it's Board of Directors. He comes from a position as Head of
Corporate Affairs at Nokia Siemens Networks and will be replacing
Michael Jungner, who will leave when his five year contract ends on 30
April 2010.
Martin Strange-Hansen is
the new Chairman of the Association of Danish Film Directors.
Strange-Hansen graduated as a director from the National Film School of
Denmark in 2001. He has directed shorts and features and won an Oscar
in 2003 for his short film This Charming Man. He's currently working on
a children's film. Strange-Hansen takes over from Dorte Høeg Brask,
who's now a film consultant at the Danish Film Institute.
Mette Damgaard-Sørensen
will be the new Principal at European Film College in Denmark. In
August 2010 she will be taking over from Søren Høy. Damgaard-Sørensen
has previously been a consultant at the Danish Film Institute and the
Editor of the film magazine EKKO.
Cecilia Lidin, Head of Office at European Documentary Network (EDN), is the new documentary film consultant at Den Vestdanske Filmpulje.
Jan Rofekamp will receive the 2010 Doc Mogul Award at Hot Docs in May 2010.
The Doc Mogul Award is given to an individual who, over the course of
his or her career, has made an essential contribution to the creative
vitality of the documentary industry, both in his or her home country
and abroad. Jan Rofekamp is president and owner of Films Transit
International, one of the world's leading international distributors of
high-profile theatrical feature documentaries.
Kristina Trapp has been appointed
CEO at EAVE, the Media Programme's training and development programme.
She joined EAVE in 2004 and worked as the programme's Deputy Chief
Executive since 2007. Trapp is replacing Alan Fountain, who becomes
Head of Studies.
