Nordisk Forum 2010 Guidelines
Bergen, Norway, 27-28 September
REQUIREMENTS
- Nordisk Forum is open to Nordic and Baltic independent producers with new documentary projects.
- The project must be supported with documentation of credible financial backing from a national or regional financier, in addition to a Letter of Backing from the commissioning editor specifically recommending its presence at Nordisk Forum.
- The producer as well as the involved commissioning editor must be present to pitch.
- A selection will be made from the applications should there be a larger number of eligible projects than available pitching slots (max. 24).
- Priority will be given to first time participants and projects that have not been pitched at other events before Nordisk Forum. However, the foremost selection criteria will be the estimated potential of the project to travel and an assessment of the project's financial feasibility.
NORDISK FORUM ONLINE & PROJECT CATALOGUE
- The selected projects will be presented online (password protected area) 3 weeks in advance, and in a printed catalogue distributed to the financiers approximately 10 days prior to the event.
- Each project is presented on Nordisk Forum Online with a trailer and basic production information.
- The printed project catalogue offers an extensive presentation, providing production facts, a specified budget, a synopsis, a company profile as well as presentations of the producer and the director.
THE PITCHING SESSIONS
- Each producer has a maximum of 7 minutes to pitch his/her project together with the involved commissioning editor.
- Visual material can be used for the presentation.
- The pitch will be followed by a brief Q & A with the moderator.
- The pitching sessions will be conducted in English.
INDIVIDUAL MEETINGS
- Nordisk Forum's afternoon programme is reserved for individual meetings. Meetings with commissioning editors are booked by the Nordisk Forum staff.
- Meeting requests are to be submitted beforehand through Nordisk Forum Online. In addition, meetings can be added, when possible, after the pitch in the event of a favourable response from a commissioning editor.
- First priority will be given to meetings requested by a commissioning editor, second to producers whose projects have been pitched and third priority to observers with a project on Nordisk Forum Online.
- Individual meetings are scheduled at 15 minutes.
